PSYCHOTHERAPY

Individual Psychotherapy

Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) and Attachment Focused EMDR (AF-EMDR) form the foundation of my practice, and I make use of different philosophies and modalities based upon the needs of the client. Overarching in my style is an attention to, and working with, the mind, body, and emotions. Psychotherapy is exploratory, experiential, and oriented toward healing and transformation.

We work together to strengthen your connection with your inner resources, enlist your imagination, and clear channels for energy to flow more freely.

Benefits of psychotherapy: relieving depression and anxiety, processing trauma and increasing vitality, improving one’s sense of agency, style of communication, and quality of relationships, and cultivating self compassion.

Family/Child Therapy

In my work with children and families I can meet individually with children in play or talk therapy, depending on the developmental stage of the child, or dyadically with the child and caregiver(s). Parent sessions are held to discuss family history, relationship dynamics, current stressors and challenges, and shifts to implement at home. Joint sessions with parents and children also provide important opportunities to work together on relationship building, communication, and connection.

Areas of Focus: challenging behavior, anxiety, depression, trauma, loss and grief, adjustment to family changes and transitions, parenting, and supporting healthy child development

WELLNESS

Wellness sessions are offered individually and there may be opportunities for of group and individual sessions. Improvement in overall health and well-being is addressed through education and experiential exercises, as well as by connecting the work to your areas of interest, enjoyment, and pleasure. Individual sessions are used to identify your specific goals and interests, support areas of growth, and work through barriers to change. When groups are in session, they provide a community for support and empowerment,

Focal areas include physical activity, positive social connections, healthy stress management techniques, quality sleep, and a healthy diet. Research is mounting that demonstrates the importance of play, connection to the natural world, and having experiences of wonder and awe, for physical and emotional well-being. We can work together to identify ways to integrate this in to your life.
